Jaguars’ Interview With Doug Pederson To Take Place On Thursday

Videos by OutKick

Doug Pederson coached the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl victory in 2017, and it appears the Jacksonville Jaguars are impressed.

Per multiple reports, the Jaguars will interview Pederson for their own coaching vacancy on Thursday, created earlier this month when they canned Urban Meyer after less than a season.

Pederson has compiled a 42-37-1 mark in five years. The Eagles went 13-3 in the Super Bowl-winning year, but declined steadily after that. They went 9-7 in 2018 and then again in 2019. They finished 4-11-1 last season, after which Pederson got the axe.

Along with Pederson, the Jaguars reportedly will interview former Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts coach Jim Caldwell.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, Bucs defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett are among the others linked to the Jaguars job.

Pederson spent three years as the offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs under Andy Reid (2013-15), before replacing Chip Kelly as coach of the Eagles.
