Jags Remove Responsibility From LB Myles Jack

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said Monday that linebacker Myles Jack sustained an oblique injury in Sunday's loss to the Tennessee Titans and is expected to be day-to-day.

Jack exited Sunday's game early and passed on his responsibilities of hearing the play calls from the sideline and relaying them to the huddle to linebacker Damien Wilson and safety Rayshawn Jenkins.

“We have been evaluating that, because Myles plays three positions,” Meyer told reporters after the loss. “You know, in the three different — base, nickel, dime. We just did some research, he plays best when he doesn’t have to make the call.”

CBS Sports reports Jack played every defensive snap over the previous three games, but he was limited to 34 snaps Sunday due to the injury. Looking ahead to Week 6, the 26-year-old's participation level at practice this week should provide a better idea of his potential availability.

The Jaguars next travel to London to face the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 17 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 a.m. EST.
