It's All That: Nickelodeon To Simulcast CBS Playoff Game

One AFC Wild Card game is sure to get all kinds of slimy, and word has it, no less than Patrick Starr will offer some pre-game analysis.

It's true, as Nickelodeon will simulcast the AFC Wild Card matchup set for Jan. 10 and gearing everything toward kids.

The game will air alongside CBS Sports' broadcast of the 4:30 p.m. EST kickoff and "will feature one-of-a-kind kid-focused content and Nick-themed elements throughout, including a special halftime presentation, guest reporters and original on-field graphics, virtual filters and more," per CBS.

Noah Engle will serve as play-by-play man for the Nickelodeon broadcast, with former NFL receiver Nate Burleson and All That star Gabrielle Nevaeh offering, uh, "analysis" from the booth. Meanwhile, Lex Lumpkin of Unfiltered will report from the sidelines.

No word yet if Ren and Stimpy, Doug or Blue of Blue's Clues fame will be named to the Nickelodeon's All-Time team, or if Squidward Tentacles and his saxophone will serve as the halftime musical act. But there will undoubtedly be a whole lot of SpongeBob SquarePants.

(Editor's note: A big thank you to from the Bikini Bottom of our hearts to reader Matthew Marx, who writes: "I’m not proud to know this to correct you but Squidward plays the clarinet not the saxophone." Duly noted, sir, and well played.)

Per CBS: "Nickelodeon’s coverage begins with 'The SpongeBob SportsPants Countdown Special,' a sports-themed compilation special at 4 p.m., hosted by the Denver Broncos’ Von Miller, highlighting SpongeBob’s best sports moments and featuring pre-kickoff appearances by CBS Sports’ Jim Nantz and Tony Romo, as well as Eagle, Burleson and Green."

Von Miller? Tony Romo? SpongeBob SquarePants? Next year's Kids' Choice Awards race may end up being the most competitive race ever.
