It Took An Entire Career, But Bill Belichick Finally Apologized To Reporters

  1. Paging the devil. Better lake a look outside because Hell may have just frozen over.

Maybe Bill Belichick’s a gummies guy and the edibles got the best of him, or maybe the holidays have him in his feelings. Either way, no one could’ve predicted what the Patriots’ coach did  Monday afternoon. The notorious scrooge, wait for it…apologized to the media!

“I’ll just start off here. Look fellas, I apologize if it seemed like I was a little short with you after the game,” Belichick told the media during a Monday zoom call.

Belichick was referencing his brief and uninformative post-game presser which followed the Patriots’ Saturday evening loss to Indianapolis. In that game, New England was held scoreless through three quarters and turned the ball over twice. That performance had Belichick more disinterested in talking to reporters than normal.

“Obviously a frustrating game. Down 20-0. Didn’t do anything well enough. I mean, there isn’t really much to say at that point without watching the film,” said Belichick. “Clearly we had problems in every area. So there’s no simple answer. Every play could’ve been better.”

Ahh..that’s the devil, err, Belichick we all remember.

Belichick then continued driving a pitchfork into his own underperforming squad: “Not really trying to be short, but honestly, there wasn’t too much to say. I don’t know that there’s a whole lot to say now.”

Just as media members were settling into what was beginning to sound like normal Belichick vernacular, the coach called an audible, again showing remorse. “But it’s not your fault. It was a frustrating game,” added Belichick.

By all accounts, Monday was in fact a cold day in Hell.
