Ownership of the Los Angeles Chargers may be in jeopardy, and former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos just might swoop in to save the day. That is, if you really want Bezos running anything.
Anyway, per the LA Times, the sister of Chargers owner Dean Spanos has filed for a petition for a forced sale of the team. And Bezos, who could probably afford to buy all 32 NFL teams, has been cited as a potential replacement.
Bezos is worth a reported $180 billion. And if nothing else, he knows how to run a tech company. Previous reports have indicated he would love to own an NFL team someday. Given the strange state of the Chargers, he may soon have the opportunity.
Meanwhile, the court filing alleges that the Spanos family is going into considerable debt owning the Chargers. The only rational solution, according to the 156-page document, would be to put the franchise on the market.
And if not the market, maybe on Amazon.com.
when Bezos finds out that nobody watches thursday night football and he is paying for that, he will cancel his sunday ticket too.
i think the NFL needs a CDC director to tell them which football game is safe to watch.
Wrong. They are only selling 32 percent, which is the family trust part. The trust fund is losing 11 million per year. Please research. I don’t want to see you pop up at Barrett Sports with Ryan G.
