If ever there were an appropriate time to use the wide eyes emoji in Milwaukee, it’s right now. For the first time in weeks, a cheese state icon other than Aaron Rodgers suddenly has Milwaukee area fans on edge. The reason for concern? Two-time reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo recently opened the door for a potential exit from Milwaukee.
“The next challenge might not be here,” Giannis told GQ’s Zach Baron.
"I just love challenges. What’s the next challenge? The next challenge might not be here." @Giannis_An34 decided to stay in Milwaukee because it was difficult, but now the reigning champion is wary of of things becoming too easy https://t.co/GwlyDNkGs8 pic.twitter.com/wNRGl7rsVx

Antetokounmpo was discussing his Bucks future as part of a wide-ranging interview with GQ, who named the NBA Champion their Athlete of the Year. When discussing the challenge he faced in leading the Bucks to a championship for the first time in 50 years, the Greek Freak let slip that future accomplishments may come outside of the only NBA home he’s known.
“One challenge was to bring a championship here and we did,” said Antetokounmpo to GQ. “It was very hard, but we did. Very, very hard. I just love challenges. What’s the next challenge? The next challenge might not be here.”
And just like that, Wisconsin residents have something other than bratwursts to blame for their sudden chest pains.
Giannis, who’s under contract with the Bucks through 2025, added: “Me and my family chose to stay in this city that we all love and has taken care of us—for now. In two years, that might change. I’m being totally honest with you. I’m always honest. I love this city. I love this community. I want to help as much as possible.”
For the sake of Bucks fans everywhere and their health, maybe honesty isn’t always the best policy.

Love it. Another nail in the coffin of the most overhyped league in history.
The NBA is going to be LA/NY league, with San Fran & Miami as backups. The players truly killed this game.
Let them expand to Chinese markets and good riddance
No offense dude but you obviously don’t know what the F you are talking about. This is basketball not corn hole where the hole is on the ground and made easier for you to jump.
Stay in your lane. Watch hockey, Nascar or bowling
I’ll yield to your superior knowledge and experience at putting balls in corn hole’s.
