Iron Mike Tyson Says He Won't Get Paid To Pummel Jake Paul

After news circulated that Jake Paul reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Mike Tyson for a $50 million exhibition match in 2022, the boxing legend took to social media to clear some things up.

British news outlet The Sun reported Monday that a verbal deal had been struck to get it on and it was down to the contracts and money, citing a Vegas source for the inside info. Tyson tweeted Monday evening that it was news to him.

"This is new to me," Tyson tweeted. "I saw Jake in St. Barths and he never mentioned it."

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Tyson’s wife, Kiki Tyson, added Monday night the story was patently false. “Mike thinks the Paul brothers are great, but isn’t, nor will he, fight either one of them.”

The former heavyweight champion made a return to boxing last year and said he would fight Logan Paul in an exhibition if the money is right, though.

Before the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson situation occurred, it was widely rumored Jake Paul would be taking on boxing star Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez for his next fight, Dexerto reports.

With the Paul brothers, the tactics used to build hype aren't the standard — did Tyson really not know? Is this a way to build more hype? We'll see if there's a date ever set, but for now, the legend says he had no idea.
