Iowa Hawkeye Football Twitter Teases Return Ahead of Expected Announcement

Is it finally the night the Iowa Hawkeyes football team gets its 2020 college football season back? It sure sounds like it, if you believe in what comes across hot mics, especially hot mics picking up what University of Nebraska president Ted Carter has to say.

“We’re getting ready to announce the Huskers and Big Ten football tonight,” Carter could be heard saying on a hot mic. That has led to a sudden influx of 'ready' content from the likes of Iowa and Ohio State.

Outkick founder Clay Travis reported over the weekend that the Big Ten was set to vote and a return to action date of October 17 is being eyeballed.

"Nebraska president Ted Carter leaked news earlier that the B1G is set to announce it's 2020 football plan today. This is confirmed. Polls are closed. Votes are in. Time for #Badgers fans and their pals across the league to celebrate," Jeff Potrykus, who covers the Badgers for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, tweeted today.
