Inaugural College Football Playoff Rankings Are Released

I know it's fashionable to rip anyone in a position of power on social media, but I actually think the committee did a pretty good job with their first ranking. Nine of their top ten were in Outkick's top ten. (The only difference was I had Georgia in my top ten and the committee had Notre Dame). I also think Alabama is better than Ole Miss and had the Tide in my top four, but I understand the committee wanting to send the message that head-to-head matters. I also think the committee sent a decent message about losing on the road. Of the top eight teams, six have losses, five of those losses came on the road. Oregon is the only team to lose at home. That's honestly why I'd have Alabama above Oregon, but I understand that Oregon's there because of the Michigan State win. 

Given that Auburn and Ole Miss play this weekend you know one of these teams is dropping out regardless. And there's tons that will change between now and the end of the season. Now that we know four of the inaugural top six are from the SEC, it would be pretty shocking if the conference doesn't get at least two teams and maybe three before all is said and done.
