In These Uncertain Times, KFC Suspends Finger-Lickin' Good Slogan (Again)

We've all been encouraged for months now not to touch our faces because that could perpetuate the spread of coronavirus. It thus comes as no surprise that KFC is announcing that they're suspending their finger-lickin' good slogan.

"We find ourselves in a unique situation — having an iconic slogan that doesn't quite fit in the current environment," KFC chief marketing officer Catherine Tan-Gillespie said in a statement, via CNN, adding that the slogan will return when the "time is right."

If you're wondering ... why now? Why not five months ago? Well, they actually did already pull the ads with this slogan back in March. Now it's been long enough that we kind of collectively forgot, they can get a fresh round of press (Google it and you'll see a lot of outlets are falling for it, and I guess we're proving the point by doing that too), and they're spinning it into its own marketing campaign:

There's not really a moral to the story here except now I want some popcorn chicken more than I did 20 minutes ago when I started on this piece.
