In Rare Twist, Tennessee Adds Basketball Game

The Tennessee men’s basketball program is shifting its basketball schedule for all the right reasons.

More specifically, the Volunteers are adding a game. In a day when COVID-19 fears are causing most teams to postpone or outright drop opponents, the Volunteers are adding a home game against St. Joseph’s, scheduled for Monday, Dec. 21.

A couple of other games are being moved around to make the St. Joe’s game happen. First, the game vs. Tennessee Tech has been moved up a day, from Dec. 19 to Dec. 18. Also, UT’s game against USC Upstate has changed from Dec. 22 to Dec. 23.

Tennessee was ranked 12th in the nation entering Saturday’s game vs. Cincinnati. The schedule changes put the Volunteers on track for 25 regular-season games.

Per the school, here are the tipoff times to the updated games:

  • Friday, Dec. 18 – vs. Tennessee Tech | 7 p.m. ET | SEC Network+
  • Monday, Dec. 21 – vs. Saint Joseph’s | 6 p.m. ET | SEC Network
  • Wednesday, Dec. 23 – vs. USC Upstate | 5 p.m. ET | SEC Network
