If You Think It's Easy To Sneak Into Augusta National, Think Again

Sneaking onto the grounds of Augusta National Golf Club will land you behind bars, especially if you decide to run from the cops when they get there.

Ask Grayson Beveridge, who was spotted on camera at the golf club over the weekend and charged with criminal trespassing and obstruction, the Augusta Chronicle reports.

Beveridge told deputies he snuck into the property because he “was bored” and wanted to have “some fun."

According to an incident report by Richmond County police, Augusta National guards spotted a white male on the property and called law enforcement just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

After deputies arrived and tried to make contact, reports state Beveridge started running toward a bridge on a nearby road.

Another deputy spotted the 26-year-old a short time later, but he ran again.

Deputies searched near a creek and eventually spotted Beveridge running out of the wood line. He gave up and then apologized to deputies for running away from them.

Augusta Chronicle reports that security said Augusta National will prosecute.

Beveridge was taken to jail and has since been released on bond.
