The gloves came off early Tuesday morning between a couple of NFL Insider® heavyweights as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport got off the treadmill (or maybe he was still on it) and subtweeted the hot air right out of coronabro Mike Florio over his report that Urban Meyer’s seeking $12 million to coach the Jags.
“The notion that Urban Meyer is seeking $12M a year to coach in the NFL is not accurate, source said,” Rapoport tweeted. “I’m sure the former Florida and OSU coach will be well compensated if he becomes the Jaguars coach. But that number is not relevant and false.”
“FALSE!” Rap Sheet hit Florio with the ultimate insult. He called the man a liar.
It didn’t take long before Florio busted through the Twitter doors with his finger guns blazing and defending his Monday report stating Meyer’s salary demands. The man had to defend his integrity.
“Owners don’t want entry level coaches making a ton of money. So it’s not shocking that the league-owned media conglomerate would try to shoot down the notion that Urban Meyer wants an amount that is entirely fair and appropriate for him,” Florio shot back.
And there it is, an old fashioned feud-off. Beef-off. Insider®-off. Neither side is backing down. Florio has Matt Rhule’s salary in the $9 million range (as an entry-level coach) and Bill Belichick “north” of $20 million.
Did anyone think to just ask Urban how much he’s asking for? I did. Urbs can settle this real fast.
@CoachUrbanMeyer Mike Florio says you want $12 million to coach the Jags. Ian Rapoport says that number is false. Go ahead and clear up this beef-off, how much are you asking to coach Jacksonville?

Maybe the coronabros will have a limp-wristed slap fight now…
Soy boys
These two hussies haha.
2 cleat chasers
It’s fun when the snowflake coronabros start fighting.
The more I watch these ‘journalists’ make these claims about how much money a guy is allegedly seeking…the more I realize Trevor Bauer is right.
Boring. TMZ for sports
Chucky Gruden makes $10M. I think they are both wrong and the $12M number is low.
