I’m going to start by saying that this supposedly was an accident. I am not entirely sure I believe that, but it’s what those responsible are saying. I guess we can go ahead and take that angle.
Anyways, a huge cargo ship in the Suez Canal over in Egypt is stuck sideways, blocking all traffic through the canal. It’s actually a huge problem that is slowing down intercontinental trade, but that’s not the focus of this article.
Instead, we’ll be focusing on the “unintentional” drawing made by the ship during its voyage. Here’s the track from VesselFinder, which displays real time ship positions and marine traffic detected by global AIS network.

Look, the headline already gave it away, so I’m not even going to ask you to think about what you’re looking at here. You know what it looks like, as do I. If someone tries to tell you that’s not what they saw initially, they are absolutely lying.
Period.
Even the people who are focused on the real issue can’t help but notice.
OH NO: misfortune's unerring aim touched #EVERGIVEN's track as it departed the designated anchorage and steamed into the Canal.
(innocent, but terrible luck)

“Innocent, but terrible luck,” Scott-Railton tweeted.
I mean, come on.
Let’s hope the situation is resolved soon, but in the meantime, I’m not not going to find the humor in an otherwise unfortunate situation. What are the chances?

Yeah that’s as accidental as the Navy jocks who did it with contrails.
