Houston Texans Try To Shut Down Daily Practices At Training Camp, NFL Says 'Nope'

The offseason in the NFL is always good for some storylines, but this offseason it seems like the Houston Texans have dominated the headlines.

The Texans have had a complete overhaul in their front office. They now have a new coach and a new general manager, and there has been tons of coverage of the ongoing issues and demands of young superstar quarterback Deshaun Watson, who is currently embroiled in his own legal matters.

As the preseason begins, the Texans want to end training camp for the squad a few weeks early, but the NFL has balked at that idea.

The Texans initially told reporters that the team would be ending training camp on Thursday, two days before their preseason opener Saturday night against the Green Bay Packers. The team reportedly didn't want reporters to have access to various things on the field, some of which is likely related to Watson.

The NFL fired back and demanded that the Texans keep camp open. Current NFL rules dictate that daily practices must be open to the media through the 26th of August.

Looking to avoid fines and bad blood with the league, the Texans and their front office will probably follow the rules and keep the practices open for another two weeks.
