Heat F Markieff Morris Out After Shove From Nikola Jokic

Heat forward Markieff Morris will be out against the Lakers on Wednesday because of an incident with Nuggets center Nikola Jokic on Monday.

During the game, Jokic shoved Morris in the back, causing him to fall to the floor and hurt his neck. Jokic's shove came after Morris hit Jokic at the logo to stop a fast break. Both Jokic, 26, and Morris, 32, were ejected from the game.

The fallout has left Morris injured and with a hefty fine to pay. Morris was fined $50,000 for his shove at midcourt. Jokic, meanwhile, was suspended for one game.

It's unclear how long Morris will be out, but he will be missed in Miami's lineup against the Lakers. Morris spent the last two seasons with Los Angeles and won an NBA title with the team in 2020.

He signed with Miami in the offseason on a one-year deal. Morris has averaged 18.7 minutes a night, recording 7.7 PPG and 2.8 RPG in 10 games.
