You get what you get this morning!

Ever tried to pump out a hot edition of Screencaps, had Chrome freezing up your Mac, a 4-year-old screaming over not getting to play dodgeball, a radio show wanting you to do a flaming hot interview and try to install a new browser at the same time? That was my morning over the last two hours. Needless to say it was an eventful morning, but I survived and I think we have ourselves a 3-star edition of Screencaps ready to go here, even with the serious computer issues.

I don’t know what happened to Chrome after Apple released the Big Sur update, but I’m out, dawgs. I fought it Thursday, and this morning was my breaking point. I don’t have time to keep restarting my computer every five minutes. Time is ticking around here. I have a big golf tournament to operate in the morning, and some browser is looking to suck up my valuable time because it’s a clunky piece of software junk.

Anyway, let’s move on to what I was up to last night. I could’ve sat on the couch after mowing the yard and inhaled 71-degree air conditioning. I didn’t. I could’ve sat on the patio and consumed some empty calories. I didn’t. I got in the car and drove two hours south to grab golf tournament supplies at my dad’s house. We sat on his patio, had some pizza, talked about the cicadas that are going nuts in his trees, how his golf game is looking and what his mulch plan is this summer. Then I got in the car and drove two hours home. That’s right, a 280-mile roundtrip visit for dinner and to grab some items.

Observations from the road & dad’s house:

• One of the local radio stations out in west-central Ohio had its algorithm snap off a Billy Joel “Piano Man” followed by Salt-N-Pepa’s smash hit “Push It.” I about fainted. These algos are completely out of control.

• Yes, I did hear “Danger Zone” from Kenny Loggins. Yes, I did crank up the cruise control a mile-per-hour or so.

• I had my first cicada smashing into my windshield experience near I-70/75. It was like hitting a humming bird. The explosion was quite impressive and will require some deep cleaning, but that will have to wait because I’ll be smashing into mayflies over on Put-In-Bay this weekend. It’s a bad week for bugs and windshields. RIP, bugs.

• There’s something about a west-central Ohio I-75 sunset on a Thursday night in mid-June, especially when “Danger Zone” is pumping through 8-10 speakers. It’s Pure Ohio®. My sunset rankings are:

  1. Lake Michigan
  2. West-central Ohio
  3. Along the Florida Gulf coast

• My dad told me he’ll be adjusting his wood pile because it’s leaning after his old work buddy Shilt hit it the other day. I took a look at the wood pile. It’s not leaning.

• I used to think it was time for my dad to retire his yardwork clothes that are beyond ridiculous, but these days I’m just happy to see him out there slinging bags of mulch and gettin’ after it. He’s wearing shorts that look like they belong on a 6’10 NBA shooting guard, but he loves the comfort, so go for it.

I need to get caught up on what Victoria’s Secret is up to:

Daniel in Georgia writes:

Daniel from Athens GA checking in, and just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work ’cause you are churning out some amazing content right now and your articles are always a great read. I also wanted to throw out an article/blog post idea because even though you seem plenty busy and capable of cranking out the content already, I thought I’d throw out an idea in case it sparked your interest. I was thinking that since Victoria’s Secret is throwing their company down the drain by going woke and disregarding standards of attractiveness, maybe it could be a fun post to compile pictures of some iconic (or just any) Angels moments from the past in order to remember the good times before they’re gone. I’m not sure how easy that would be to do or if you’d have the time to put it together, but I thought I’d throw the idea out there to give you some help in case you wanted some content ideas because I know there’d be plenty of guys (and maybe even some gals…) that wouldn’t be opposed to seeing some Instagram photos of supermodels. Well that’s all, keep up the great work and I’ll keep looking forward to seeing Screencaps and the rest of your articles as long as you’re at OutKick!

• Thanks for holding tight this morning. Caps was an adventure, but we made it. Enjoy your weekend!
