Hamm It Up: Waxed Don Draper On Display At NYC Steak House

You can now have a steak with Don Draper, and maybe a beer. Just don't expect him to add much to the conversation. Or really anything at all.

But hey, who needs Draper to talk? You can just tell him what's on your mind, with him given no choice but to listen, at the Peter Luger Steak House in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Draper, of course, was the somewhat slimy Madison Avenue advertising executive played by Jon Hamm on the hit AMC series, "Mad Men," that ran from 2007-15. He is among the celebrity wax figures that is mingling with customers over the weekend at the steak house.

Per The Associated Press: "A wax Jon Hamm — known for his portrayal of ad executive Draper in the hit TV series — could be found at the restaurant’s bar Friday with a cocktail in hand. Other figures on loan from Madame Tussauds include Michael Strahan, Jimmy Fallon, Al Roker and Audrey Hepburn in Holly Golightly of 'Breakfast at Tiffany’s' mode."

NYC restaurants were able to increase their capacity from 25 percent to 35 percent, so this is a way for Peter Luger Steak House, in business for more than 130 years, to generate some buzz.

The wax celebrities will be on display until Monday, when they will return to Madame Tussauds in midtown Manhattan.
