I know you’ve been over on Facebook and you’re all miserable because misery runs rampant on that social media platform. You need some good news and that good news comes to us via Gronk who announced he’s stepping up for a Tampa-area high school that lost all its football equipment after an arson (allegedly) lit a storage shed on fire. A juvenile was arrested in that case, but that didn’t bring back the estimated $15,000 in equipment that burned up in the fire. Enter Gronk and his Pit Viper shades.
Gronk wrote on Instagram:
Hey Blake High School – we heard about the fire that destroyed your storage shed full of football equipment. Guess what?? The Gronk Nation Youth Foundation and the Tampa Bay Bucs Foundation are replacing it all! Keep working hard… I wanna see what you got! Go Yellow Jackets and Go Bucs!
Junior varsity head coach Michael Castellana was understandably shaken by the arson during times when budgets are being slashed. “The first thing that popped up in media outlets was that it was a maintenance shed. I knew it wasn’t a maintenance shed,” Castellano said. “We get our players off to college the best we can. This is equipment they need. You can improvise on some things but not everything. “This is just devastating right now.”
Let’s hear from the kids and what they think:
Kavon Willingham will be a senior at Blake High School next year. He is a member of the football team and, now, thanks to @RobGronkowski and the @Buccaneers, Willingham and his teammates will have the equipment they need to compete on the field
