Gronk's Mom Rooting For 'Washed Up Brady And Washed Up Gronk'

Tom Brady has been to 10 Super Bowls over his 21-year career. This Sunday, he'll be going for win No. 7 in those 10 appearances. Pretty impressive, right?

Most of that success has come with the New England Patriots and under his former head coach Bill Belichick. But we often forget about another significant contributor to Brady's success, especially over the last decade.

His longtime tight end and friend, Rob Gronkowski.

Gronk has been a part of six of those Super Bowl appearances and has three rings of his own. He'll be playing for a chance at ring No. 4 come Sunday, and his biggest supporter is ready to cheer him on: his mom.

FOX 13 News snagged an interview with her down in Tampa, and it was great. She assured everyone that Gronk is the fun, full-of-life guy everyone sees on T.V. and talked a bit about his NFL success. The best line came when she referred to her son and Brady as "washed-up."

"He was really proud that the whole team could come together and do this for Tampa," she said, via FOX 13 News. "It was, 'Washed-up Brady throwing to washed-up Gronk,' and now they’re going to the Super Bowl. Maybe it is a little incentive when they get negative press."

It's kind of wild too. Gronk and Brady are both considered the two "old" guys, but Gronk is actually 12 years younger than Brady. We saw as much Brady in the pre-Gronk era as we have since he became a staple in Brady's offense.

Of course, his mom also had to finish the interview with a bit of wholesome, motherly advice: "It always the same, it has been the same since day one: Good luck and have fun!"

Words to live by.
