The 2021 Grammy Awards has been postponed due to a recent spike in coronavirus cases. The Recording Academy says the event, which was originally scheduled to take place on Jan. 31 in Los Angeles, will be moved to March.
Hopefully by March, vaccine distributions improve, and we can begin to stop the spread of this awful virus and save lives. That’s point No. 1.
As for the event, it will undoubtedly be unwatchable, hosted by the least funny person on TV. That’s right, Trevor Noah, who tanked The Daily Show without shame.

January, March, or June, NPR writers are likely to avoid the event completely. Cardi B did not submit “WAP” to the academy. Thus, the song NPR says was 2020’s best, due to its “politics of pleasure,” won’t earn hardware.
As the rescheduled date is not yet final, we encourage you to have a Netflix mini-series ready for each Sunday night in March, just in case.
