Tiger Woods Used To Work Out Like A Madman

There is a reason Tiger Woods is arguably the best golfer of all time. His commitment to being great during his younger days built the player we grew accustomed to seeing on the PGA Tour over the years.

Part of that commitment was an extensive workout routine. Not from a complexity standpoint (although, I'm sure the workouts are intense too), but from the standpoint of time management. This is a guy who was all about perfecting his craft.

The PGA Tour's official Twitter account released a clip on Wednesday of Woods discussing what he did during his younger days -- 24 years old, to be exact. Check it out:

For those that cannot watch the video, the response came as a result of a question from fellow professional golfer Justin Thomas. Thomas asked Woods what he used to do for workouts when he was his age (Thomas is 27 years old).

"Well, I used to get up in the morning, run four miles," Woods stated. "Then I'd go to the gym, do my lift, and then I'd hit balls for 2-3 hours. I'd go play, come back, work on my short game. I'd go run four more miles, and then if anyone wanted to play basketball or tennis, I'd play basketball or tennis. And that was a daily routine."

Sounds like a busy day. Personally, I was out on the running four miles. But I'm sure that has nothing to do with why my golf game isn't elite.

To be fair, Woods did admit that he isn't "doing any of that now." Might be why those majors have slowed down too, Tiger. Or it could be the 44 years on this earth mixed with the multiple injuries in recent years, but eh, what do I know?

Either way, I'm pretty sure we are all still pulling for Tiger.
