Giants Deal With TE Kyle Rudolph Hits 'Snag' Due To Foot Injury That Could Require Surgery

Veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph, formerly of the Minnesota Vikings, and the New York Giants appeared to have a two-year deal in place, but that has now hit a snag because of a foot injury that could require surgery.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo first reported the issue with the potential signing, a deal that could have teamed Rudolph up with fellow tight end Evan Engram.

Garafolo reports that the two sides are chatting about the best option to move forward.

The $14 million deal was agreed to but not yet signed, which could give the Giants a way out if they believe that Rudolph won't be able to play a lot this season due to the injury.

Rudolph missed the last four games of the 2020 season because of the foot injury. He had started the first 12 games of the season.

Rudolph, 31, has not produced the numbers he once did, but he's still a threat at the tight end spot. Plus, having a 1-2 punch at tight end is something most teams don't have.

In his career, all with the Vikings, Rudolph has 453 career receptions with 4,488 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns.
