Giants Begin Exploring Market For Next GM

Videos by OutKick

There’s no time like the offseason for the New York Giants and their fans.

After all, when it comes to the Giants, it’s all about getting the offseason right. For starters, they own two picks — Nos. 5 and 7 — in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

And goodness knows, they could use some help.

They could also use a new GM after the retirement of Dave Gettleman.

Per multiple reports, New York is already requesting interviews with rival front office executives. The list includes former Cardinals safety and current VP of pro personnel Aaron Wilson, 49ers assistant GM Adam Peters and 49ers director of player personnel Ran Carthan, according to Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager.

But that’s not all. The Giants are also hoping to talk to Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and Titans VP of player personnel Ryan Cowden and Titans director of player personnel Monti Ossenfort, per CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.

Most of those opposing teams will grant the interviews. No one wants to keep a man from getting his next gig and rising through the ranks. In other words, the Giants will have a large pool from which to choose.

Meanwhile, coach Joe Judge is expected to be safe — for now. But the truth is, a new GM tends to prefer to bring in his own coach, and the Giants are about to have a new GM. And Judge has gone 10-23 in two seasons.

But before the Giants can worry about any of that, they must find a new man to run their football operations and fix the mess that they have become on the field. By the looks of things, they already know that.
