France, Of All Places, Concerned With America’s ‘Out-of-Control Woke Leftism’

You know you’ve become a nation dominated by liberalism when France starts to worry about you, but that seems to be the case with the United States.

French president Emmanuel Macron is among those concerned. Macron, after all, appeared to side with a group of intellectuals who argued that France is being contaminated by the leftism of the U.S.

“In a speech in October on the ‘Fight against Separatism,’ Macron warned against leaving ‘the intellectual debate to others’ as he cautioned of the ‘certain social science theories entirely imported from the United States,'” the Daily Mail wrote.

It’s gotten so bad that most French politicians and academics are actually arguing against what the Daily Mail calls America’s “out-of-control leftism and cancel culture.”

So why is France all up in arms about this? Well, per the Daily Mail, scholars and politicians believe American leftism is attacking French heritage and identity.

As an aside, it should be noted that this news came to light before the U.S. woke crowd decided to stamp out legendary French skunk Pepe Le Pew. You can only guess how France feels now. It probably thinks America stinks more than ever.

  1. ‘Well, per the Daily Mail, scholars and politicians believe American leftism is attacking French heritage and identity. ‘

That’s what American leftism is all about today…attacking heritage and identity. Mainly through attacking religion, family, and the nation and turning it into what skin suit you wear.

  2. You could make a case that Macron and France have already learned lessons that the U.S. is getting ready to learn: Progressive ideas don’t work. So many of these theories are cooked up in classrooms, but when you implement them in the real world, they fall apart. See the streets of San Francisco for one good example, California writ large as another.

There’s also a very specific threat to the Continent buried in one these ideas. European nations, many with aging white populations, just imported millions of Muslim immigrants. The white guilt movement could further inflame tensions.

  3. Being a dual citizen, the thing is, even the French left is attached to the French principles of strict separation of church and state and the respect of the State, which I’m no fan of. I’ve said for a decade now that the American left is awful and made me miss French socialists. That’s a lot to say. The American left is power hungry, greedy (look at those teachers unions) and very often ignorant on the rest of the world.

  4. Europe helped create this monster decades ago as their godless secularism crept into academia. Now they’re worried? Hah. They literally set the standard on moral relativism YEARS ago, scoffing at the American Church’s sway on our society, norms and laws as un-enlightened and dangerous. It hopped across the pond in intellectual circles like always. Well boys, here’s where it leads! No rules, just right! Now you also get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Let us know when you have more great ideas.

  5. Yes!!! American Corporations need to stop this bullshit. All it takes is 1. If Wal-Mart or Pepsi or IBM the next time the wokies tried to cancel something stood up and said NO! People would stand beside them. The problem right now is that it’s primarily tech types that are joining in like Amazon, Disney, Youtube etc. those people are different breed. I think it was Whitlock that first brought it up that made sense to me. Traditional leftists are from NY. The new left is out of Silicon Valley and they hate everyone and everything.

This is a bad look for liberals not stand with everyone else and rally against the cancel bullshit. Make no mistake Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Bill Clinton. They will come for you too.
