Former LSU Quarterback TJ Finley Transferring To Auburn

Former LSU quarterback TJ Finley has found a new football home. We knew that was coming, we just didn't know where.

But after announcing four finalists on Sunday, Finley made his next program official on Monday. That program? Not so surprisingly, the answer is Auburn.

In other words, Finley will remain in the SEC West Division, the same division in which LSU competes.

"I felt like God led me to do this," Finley told 247Sports. "It was the best situation for me as a quarterback."

Finley started five games as freshman last season, filling in for injured regular Myles Brennan. Finley finished the season by going 80-of-140 passing for 941 yards, with five touchdowns and five interceptions.

With the Tigers, he will enter a QB competition with returning starter Bo Nix. However, Nix was recruited by former coach Gus Malzahn, and new coach Bryan Harsin may have some different ideas.

"(Auburn has) a new system going in, and they feel like I fit their system, and it's a lot of things that they are telling me that are very promising," Finley told AL.com earlier this month. "Not saying they're promising me anything, but it's promising as far as the future. It's basically that I can come in and compete for the starting job, and if I were good enough to be the No. 1 guy, I would be the No. 1 guy."

For Finley, it's a whole new opportunity to find the right fit and live up to some of the hype.

Alabama, Penn State and Houston were the other schools under consideration, Finley said.
