Former All-Pro Running Back Todd Gurley Remains In Contact With The Detroit Lions

It's taken some time, but it looks like former St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcon running back Todd Gurley, 26, is set to join a new team - the Detroit Lions.

The former All-Pro running back and the Lions sat down at the team's facility last week to chat about his future.

"Yeah, look, we have interest in Todd," Lions coach Dan Campbell said ahead of Thursday's OTA practice.

"We do, and we're talking with him and his agent."

Gurley played in 15 games for the Falcons last season, carrying the ball 195 times for 678 yards and nine touchdowns. His best game came in Week Five against the Carolina Panthers, when he rushed for 121 yards and four catches for 29 yards to go along with two scores.

While Gurley is in the team's plans, the club still has young running backs D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams.

"Just because we have interest in (Gurley), that does not affect our feeling and our thoughts on both Swift and Jamaal," Campbell said.

Gurley had three 1,000 plus yard seasons while with the Rams. His biggest season was 2017, when he rushed for just over 1,300 yards.
