Former 5-Star OL Explains a Jim Harbaugh Eccentricity that Kept Him Away from Michigan

Isaiah Wilson, an offensive lineman on the Titans, joined Will Compton & Taylor Lewan on Barstool's Bussin' with the Boys podcast this week. Wilson was a five-star recruit coming out of high school, and had pretty interesting reasons for turning down Nick Saban/Alabama and Jim Harbaugh/Michigan.

With Alabama, Wilson explained that he was committed there for awhile but got turned off when Nick Saban would not hug him, but merely shake his hand. This impasse was apparently a bridge too far.

The Jim Harbaugh story is more wild.

“Remember when first got the deal with Jordan?” Wilson said, via Barstool transcription. ” just wouldn’t take off his cleats. He came to my in-home visit with cleats on his feet. And I have hardwood floors. And he’s just walking around with cleats bro. After that it was over.”

Wilson wound up at Georgia; Kirby Smart must have taken his shoes off before entering his home.
