Florida State Cancels on Day of Game for Second Straight Week

For the second straight week, Florida State has decided to cancel their football contest on the day of the game. Their matchup against the University of Virginia has been postponed:

It honestly feels like it happened a lot longer than a week ago, but Florida State canceled their game against Clemson last Saturday morning. Last week, it was over being uncomfortable with a COVID-19 situation on Clemson. A war of words between Dabo Swinney and Florida State coach Mike Norvell ensued.

There are a remarkable amount of college football games canceled this weekend. Hopefully by this time next year the vaccines are fully kicking and we can look back on these days as a complete anomaly.

  1. I’m losing respect for FSU, I Was personally at their last game they played and they are utter shit football team. There’s no way they cancel these games if they were 4-4 or better. They are teaching their players that it’s OK to quit.

  2. Both of the games Florida State backed out of were home games that they waited until gameday to cancel, costing Clemson $300, 000 and not sure what it cost Virginia, but Florida State should have to pay those schools back for travel, hotels, food and whatever else it cost them. I agree with Robert Grantmyre’s take that, if Florida State had a better record they wouldn’t have cancelled.
