Florida Man's In Trouble For Stealing An Ambulance, Bolting From The Scene

A Florida man with one of the more interesting ink face drawings in recent Florida Man history (no way that's a tattoo, right?) is in jail tonight after he decided to steal an ambulance.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, Trey Cornwell, 29, bolted from Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville around 12:30 p.m. Easter Sunday while the ambulance crew was dropping off a patient.

Lightning McQueen Cornwell then proceeded to drive the ambulance to a body of water where the vehicle got stuck and led to Lightning bolting off to a nearby shopping plaza where police were able to take down the subject and charge him with grand theft auto.

Now, if you thought this was the first time Cornwell has had a run-in with the police, you'd be very wrong. Back in 2011, Trey was busted trying to steal his stepfather's wallet. During the incident, he "bolted to his waiting truck," according to a Tampa Bay Times report. Cornwell's brother jumped in the bed of the truck in an attempt to stop his brother, but Trey eventually threw his brother from the truck bed via his crazy driving.

And in 2017, Cornwell, by then a felon, was popped for stealing a Toyota Tundra.

The lesson here is that if you see a guy with a bolt drawn on his face, you might want to haul ass out of the area before he bolts off in your truck or ambulance. Lesson learned, ambulance company.
