Florida Man Improvises During Gator Removal Project

Videos by OutKick

I’ve watched thousands of crazy videos over my Internet lifetime and there’s one genre that never ceases to amaze me: guys willing to face down alligators. It’s completely fascinating for the common man — in this case wearing socks and slides — to go toe to toe with an animal that is completely capable of snapping down on a leg and not letting go.

In August, there was a dad in Utah who watched an alligator attack a handler and decided to jump into the enclosure and wrestle the alligator. The dad wasn’t about to let his kid’s birthday party ruined by a woman being eaten alive.

Now we have Florida Man and his trash can and it’s a beautiful thing. It represents guys being guys. It represents guys using their brains to overcome a situation. It represents that deep down we’re looking for a challenge in life that results in an amazing story to share at the bar. It’s a life resume builder.

Now it’s time to take this to the next level and put that thing on the grill. Growing up, I would’ve never thought of having gator bites. Then I went to LSU for a football game and had my eyes opened to grilled gator.

We’re talking an all-time bar story:

Florida Man: Yeah, I can’t that damn thing in the trash can….and then I fed my whole family!

[Me completely mesmerized]: No s–t?

Florida Man: Hell yeah I did. We ate good that weekend.

[Me]: Think we should do some shots?

Florida Man: Hell yeah, let’s do it!

[Me]: Awesome. Now, what other crazy stories do you have for me?

Florida Man: This one time…

Guys, I’m not telling you to go after a gator with a trash can while wearing slides, but I’m telling you to get a story into your life resume that works at the bar. It can be embarrassing — I have many. Just make sure it’s a good one that involves a little bit of danger or drunkiness and you’re good.
