Florida Man Arrested For 'Throwing Deadly Missile' Golf Clubs At Drivers On I-75, Punching Cop

Florida man Jonathan Edward Day, 41, is in big trouble after an incident Wednesday where he allegedly threw golf clubs at drivers on I-75 near Tampa. After he was stopped by police, Day allegedly punched an officer who was attempting to arrest him. He now faces a slew of charges.

Day could spend Christmas in jail on "felony charges of battery on an officer, resisting an officer with violence and depriving an officer of means of protection or communication, and a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence," according to the Tampa Bay Times.



It gets worse. Day also faces a charge of "throwing a deadly missile from his vehicle." That's right, in Florida, a golf club thrown out of a vehicle is considered a deadly missile.

In Day's case, the vehicle from where he launched his deadly missiles was a 1999 Ford van with a cherry picker boom. In video released by the Florida Highway Patrol, you can see Day, wearing his trusty Titleist hat, ignore an officer's order. That's when he allegedly punched the officer.

There's no word on what kind of clubs Day launched.
