Field Of Dreams, Take II: Northwestern To Try Again At Wrigley

Northwestern has decided to give Wrigley Field the old college try once again.

It's true. The Northwestern football team has scheduled another game at Wrigley, this time against Purdue, set for Nov. 20. And yes, this is the second time the Wildcats have slated a game for the famous Chicago Cubs baseball field. Last year's date against Wisconsin got moved because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our program is thrilled to bring Big Ten football back to one of the most iconic venues in sports,” Wildcats coach Pat Fitzgerald said. “This will be an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes and staff, and an unforgettable day for our University community.”

Northwestern went 7-2 this past season, winning the Big Ten West for the second time in three years. The Wildcats capped another nice season with a win over Auburn in the Citrus Bowl. Purdue finished 2-4 and did not play in a bowl game.
