Fan to John Wall at Wizards Thanksgiving Charity Event: 'Don't Leave Us, Man'

Point guard John Wall reportedly wants to leave the Washington Wizards, but fans are begging him to stay. Literally.

Wall has not released a comment on his status in Washington. But hey, he did hand out turkeys at a Wizards' Thanksgiving charity event, where one fan yelled, "Don't leave us, man!" in Wall's direction.

Wall has been mentioned in trade rumors involving Houston Rockets star Russell Westbrook. After those reports came out, another report claimed that Wall is seeking a way out of Washington as well.

"Since Day One when I got here, June 25, this city, these fans ain’t do nothing but show me a lot of love," he told reporters. "That’s the same thing I want to give back to them, give my same love back, and that’s what I’m always going to continue to do no matter what goes on.

“We can’t control certain things that happen in life, but one thing I can control is my heart will always be in this city.”

Keep in mind that Wall hasn't played in more than a year after tearing his Achilles tendon soon after he signed a four-year, $170 million deal with the team.

Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard tried to put a damper on the Wall buzz on Monday.

“There are no plans to trade John. Obviously, it’s unfortunate at this time of year,” Sheppard said. “I was with John this morning. I watched him work out.”

So Sheppard said the Wizards intend to keep Wall. Wizards fans want him to stay. Wall is under contract.

But despite all signs pointing to a return to Washington, there's no telling what will happen with Wall next.
