Ex-Patriots WR Julian Edelman Denies He's Coming Back To Play In Tampa

Last season it was Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski relocating to Tampa to play for the Buccaneers.

The two were rewarded with a Super Bowl ring they will get later this summer.

Now there's a rumor that yet another New England Patriot might step away and possibly finish his career with longtime friend and quarterback Tom Brady.

That player is wide receiver Julian Edelman, who last week announced he was retiring.

There were plenty of GIFs and pics of Edelman wearing a pirate outfit taking the opportunity to move down to Tampa to play with his two former offensive buddies.

“We know Julian didn’t retire,” Brady said. “Let’s be honest, he’s just too scared to tell Bill (Belichick) he wants to come to Tampa. “I’ve been there.”

Brady isn't returning to New England anytime soon, and Edelman has already wrapped up a solid NFL career. So is there really any reason for the Bucs to even go after a veteran player like Edelman?

The 34-year-old also said recently that injuries forced him to call it quits, so all of this comeback talk might be a non-starter.

Edelman denied in an interview on Sunday that he wanted to come out of retirement.
