Ex-Democratic Presidential Candidate: Kamala Harris 'Has Been A Disaster' As VP

President Joe Biden drew criticism last Thursday after announcing that he would only nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court after Stephen Breyer's retirement.

"It's long overdue, in my opinion," Biden said. "Our process is going to be rigorous. I will select a nominee worthy of Justice Breyer's legacy of excellence and decency. While I've been studying candidates' backgrounds and writings, I've made no decision except one: the person I will nominate will be someone with extraordinary qualifications, character, experience and integrity.

"And that person will be the first Black woman ever nominated to the United States Supreme Court."

Tulsi Gabbard, the former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and Hawaii congresswoman, wrote Monday on Twitter that Biden did the exact same thing in selecting Vice President Kamala Harris. Gabbard was anything but complimentary of Harris' tenure thus far in the White House.

“Biden chose Harris as his VP because of the color of her skin and sex—not qualification," Gabbard wrote. "She’s been a disaster. Now he promises to choose Supreme Court nominee on the same criteria. Identity politics is destroying our country."

The results of the December Rasmussen poll show that a majority of Americans agree with Gabbard's assessment. 57% of voters now view the vice president unfavorably, including 50% who have a very unfavorable impression of her. That's compared to just 39% that have a favorable impression of Harris, with 19% having a very favorable opinion of her.
