Evander Holyfield Continues To Talk Up Fight, Money With Mike Tyson

Evander Holyfield wants in on the boxing exhibitions for big name fighters over 50 years of age. After witnessing Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. go at it back in November, Holyfield believes there's money to be made by getting back into the ring with Tyson himself.

The event between Tyson and Jones yielded 1.6 million pay-per-view buys and generated almost $80 million in revenue, according to Fight Sports. With numbers like that, can anyone blame Holyfield for wanting a piece of the pie?

He recently joined Brian Custer on The Last Stand Podcast to share his vision for a potential showdown with Tyson.

“I think it will be a lot of money and a lot of millions. I think $100 million," Holyfield said. "The fight would be big because so many people want the fight. We’re the top two guys people want to see. There’s no reason to do it with anybody else other than Tyson.

“The only thing that I hear people talking about they want Tyson and myself. And you know, this is what the world wants to see. But you’re not in that situation, so you have to want to do it. So, I guess we have to come together and do it.”

I'm surprised Holyfield is willing to risk the rest of his ear. But with $100 million on the line, I guess he's willing to make that sacrifice if necessary.

I didn't have too much of an interest in the Tyson-Jones fight last year, but Tyson-Holyfield? Sign me up.
