Early Exit From Olympics Forced On Australian Center Aron Baynes After Bathroom Slip

That wasn't DMX you heard crooning from the Australian Men's basketball locker room. No, that was Australian center Aron Baynes (probably) reciting X's "Slippin" lyrics after a bathroom spill knocked him from the Olympics:

"Ay yo I'm slippin' I'm fallin' I can't get up
Ay yo I'm slippin' I'm fallin' I gots to get up
Get me back on my feet so I can tear shit up"

After injuring his neck during on-court action, Baynes made his way to the locker room for further evaluation. A quick stop in the loo resulted in an untimely slip and further injury, knocking Banes out for the remainder of the Tokyo Olympics.

Dr. David Hughes, the chief medical officer for the Australians, explained to reporters that the Baynes injury was far from ordinary: “It was a complicated series of events,” said Hughes. “He did suffer an injury during the match on the court, and then he had a slip in the bathroom and suffered further injury."

“It became apparent to the medical staff that this was a bit more serious than just an average injury and so as a precaution he was taken to hospital and he’s undergoing further tests at the moment," said Hughes.

The 34-year old Raptors center is expected to make a full recovery, though it should take a few weeks. "I, along with the rest of the team, have been working so hard in our quest for a historic Olympic medal and I am gutted that I can't complete the journey with the boys. But I have every confidence that they will get the job done," Baynes told reporters.

Despite the loss of Baynes, the Aussies still found a way to be "bouncin' again, bounce-bouncin' again." After handling Germany Saturday morning, the Boomers are now a perfect 3-0 in Olympic pool play.
