Eagles To Meet With Former Ravens, Jets, Broncos QB Joe Flacco

Though Jalen Hurts is currently locked in as the starting quarterback for the Eagles, the team is still bringing veteran QB Joe Flacco in for a visit.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Flacco also visited the San Francisco 49ers last week as free agency got started.

Last season, Flacco was with the New York Jets. He played in five games with four starts, going 0-4 with 864 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions.

In 2019, Flacco was with the Denver Broncos, playing in eight games and going 2-6 as a starter.

Before that, Flacco spent 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, where he was the 18th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. He helped the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVIII over the 49ers. He is 98-77 overall as a starter.

The Eagles have already declared Hurts to be the starter entering 2021, so if Flacco joins the team, he would do so as a mentor to Hurts and to be on hand as a quality backup who can step in, should Hurts struggle or become injured.

Flacco’s best game in 2020 came on November 9th when he threw three touchdowns, going 18-for-25 for 262 yards in a 30-27 loss to the New England Patriots.
