My XFL helmets arrived to my office and (holy shit!) I’m humbled and grateful at how full circle life can sometimes be 🙏🏾🏈 My dreams of playing in the NFL never came true, but now years later – I have the honor of buying an entire pro football league so the dreams of other players CAN COME TRUE. My trailblazing partner @danygarciaco (first woman ever to own an entire US sports league) and #GerryCardinale are passionate football owners who are committed to the grind to deliver awesome football for the fans — and always take care of our hard working, talented players. And finally, I keep a framed $7 BUCKS (the amount of money I had when I was cut from the Canadian Football League in 1995) on the top shelf here as my daily reminder to stay hungry, humble and always be the hardest worker in the room. #LeagueOfCulture #LeagueOfExpression #LeagueOfPassion #LeagueOfThePeople #WeAreTheXFL 🏈

Dwayne Johnson clearly has a love for the game of football and that’s much more than fans of Major League Baseball can say about their owners or commissioner. A step in the right direction for any sport.

With expectations through the roof, Johnson surely plans to use his track record for success in just about any endeavor to his advantage. Any human that can go from American Football to the WWE then dominate the big screen is resourceful. A good sign.

His mentions of framing $7 bucks should go to show that this is an guy out to prove something. The chip on his shoulder should only give fans of the XFL more faith this league can take off.

Seems likely an entertainer like The Rock would know how much we loved the players being mic’d up. Johnson might even be more in touch with the fan’s perspective since he isn’t a lawyer at first love like the other commissioners in the sport’s world.

The XFL has a new captain now. Welcome, Dwayne.

  1. I like the optimism, Gary! Let’s just hope it doesn’t go woke and political. It would be a perfect, actually, huge opportunity to offer football without BLM & SJW lectures much to fans’ delight.

  2. Yep just keep it plain old fashion fun football XFL style i think there would be a large audience for that especially for ones who have tapped out on the NFL like myself.
