Duke Wins Its First ACC Baseball Title In Six Decades

Duke just won the ACC baseball title for the first time since 1961, and we're shocked to say the least. That's the year Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris raced to break Babe Ruth's single-season home run record of 60.

Duke baseball is back, so maybe it's time for Coach K to switch to baseball like MJ did? Either that or blame COVID for his team's disastrous season -- whichever works.

The ninth-seed Duke Blue Devils took down the three-seed NC State in a 1-0 pitchers' duel Sunday. That's big news for the program, especially since there was something to be gained on NC State's side as well. Had they won, they would've taken home their first ACC title since 1992.

Couldn't let you miss the dog pile:

Duke graduate and current Met starter Marcus Stroman took his excitement to Twitter:

Duke doesn't know where they'll play for the NCAA Tournament just yet, but they'll enter as champions of their conference. What do they have to lose? Might be the only Duke squad we ever cheer for.
