Don't Click! Saints WR Ty Montgomery Suffers Gruesome Finger Injury

There are finger injuries and then there's Saints wide receiver/running back Ty Montgomery's pinky finger injury from Sunday that goes into the 2021 NFL wiki page for most gruesome injuries suffered this football season.

Now, I want to make it very clear to those of you who don't do well with injuries, this is a bad one. The pinky is dislocated. We're talking bone trying to get through skin. We're talking this will make you queasy, unless you're one of those freaks who enjoys pinky finger dislocations.

Keep in mind, Montgomery was listed as questionable to return after that injury. Uh, the hell with that. As a blogger who types tens of thousands of letters each week, I can't even imagine what it would be like to go on the blogging injured list with a blown-out pinky. How am I hitting the question-mark key without a pinky? Do you have any idea how many times I hit the 'A' key on a daily basis?

The more I think about it, the more intimidating it is to face a pinky injury. The blogging gods can take out my ankles and I'd be just fine because I could crawl over to my desk chair and figure out a way to lift myself up into the ergonomic desk chair. In fact, I'd be just fine if my ACL blew up while mowing the lawn. I could elevate it at the desk during 14-hour shifts.

But the minute you start messing with my digits is the minute I get really nervous about my career. A hand injury like Montgomery's is absolutely terrifying and now it's ingrained in my brain.
