Here’s one to debate around the water cooler at work this week with the guys. Did this ref in the West Virginia-Texas game give Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger too many butt taps after helping him up? I count five butt taps and then the ref’s hand resting on Ehlinger’s butt in a clear violation of normal butt tap etiquette.
I’m not a butt tap expert when it comes to butt tapping other guys, but one seems like enough. That said, I’m a married man and a kitchen butt tap for my wife might include a single tap and then a hand on the butt as we talk about what we should make for dinner. You normal guys know what I’m talking about.
This ref treated Sam Ehlingering’s butt like they were in a relationship. You cross the line into cuppage and that’s a relationship move. Watch this:
This ref really liked touching Sam Ehlinger's butt 😳 pic.twitter.com/EUmR5nFyRC

Ummmm, is this refs hand a little too happy to be on Sam’s butt?? pic.twitter.com/6pFlwUsxr2

All good except leaving his hand there. Should come up to the lower back after the pats.
