D'Eriq King Is Cooking and Miami Is Back

D'Eriq King, the quarterback for the Miami Hurricanes, is cooking in the first half against Florida State. We are just a third of the way into the second quarter and King is 18-23 passing for 207 yards and two touchdowns. He's already completed balls to nine different receivers. Miami leads Florida State 21-3.

I was talking to a Miami grad earlier this week, and it was his informed opinion that King is at least the best quarterback at Miami since Brock Berlin, who's final season in Miami was in 2004. Manny Diaz has a bourgeoning resurgence in Coral Gables.

Miami is ranked no. 12 overall, and could very well be knocking on the top ten after LSU and Oklahoma lost games in which they were highly favored. (Though, that being said, at some point the Big Ten will be incorporated and they'll at the very least be behind Ohio State and possibly also Penn State at that point).
