Tomorrow, FOX Business Network is airing a virtual town hall on the financial impact of COVID-19. Making Money host Charles Payne will host the one-hour special with a panel that includes Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
The event, America Invests Together, airs at 2 p.m. ET on FBN. With Payne, Portnoy will primarily discuss investing, Outkick is told.
Portnoy is a frequent guest on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight. It’s a no-brainer for the network to attempt to ingrain him into its business channel.
Portnoy is one of the most influential personalities online and lately, since Penn National Gaming’s purchase of Barstool, has uniquely added the stock market to his beat. On Twitter, Portnoy hosts the bizarrely popular Davey Day Trade show. To understand how dedicated his fans are, they tune in daily to watch him simply day trade.
Portnoy’s impact on the stock market is literal. His short-lived COVID-19 scare sent shares of Penn down 1.2 percent. Upon a report Portnoy was fine, shares quickly bolted up 3.4 percent.
Fox Business and Portnoy is a win-win combination. Portnoy brings his large, young and rabid fan base; Fox Business gives Portnoy a linear television presence Barstool doesn’t have.
Heck, FoxBusiness or FoxNews should feature a weekly weekend sports show with Clay and Jason exposing the radical politically correct bias of the mainstream sports media and entire sports culture (what a bunch of pussies). Put it on after Gutfeld on Saturdays. THAT would be some compelling stuff to watch.
Portnoy and Clay have benefited big time from COVID. Congrats
