Danny Kanell Mocks SEC Fans For Backing Bama’s Draft Success

When Alabama set records in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and SEC chants erupted, FS1’s Danny Kanell said SEC fans really should be chanting “Roll Tide.”

During the first round of the draft on Thursday, six Alabama players were selected and Kanell had something to say.

“Hmmm without Bama here are the number of players drafted last night by conference: Big 10: 7 SEC: 6 ACC: 6 PAC 12: 3,” Kanell tweeted. “So please correct that UGa, LSU, or Tex AM fan when they chant ‘SEC, SEC, SEC’ they should really be chanting ‘Roll Tide, Roll Tide.’”

The Spun reports without Alabama’s six draft picks on Thursday night, the SEC would have had just six players selected in the first round.

Kanell pointed out that the SEC loves to say it’s the best conference in football, but perhaps they’re all just riding Alabama’s coattails, the article states.

Alabama’s eight players selected in the first two rounds are the most by any school in the Common Draft Era — since 1967 — with the Crimson Tide also taking the second-most ever in 2020 with seven players, per ESPN Stats and Info.

  1. I wonder if he’s checked the total draft board….I also wonder if he’s checked to see if he removed the Bama players from the first round and looked at the next 6 picks…… or if he thought where the players might have gone if Nick wasn’t at Bama……… of course not, he’s a buffoon.
