Daniel Jones’ QB Ranking Points To Big Things For Big Blue

The Giants’ ongoing development of quarterback Daniel Jones continues to be the most intriguing storyline out of the NFC East. Should he have his best season yet, New York can emerge as NFC East champions and a contending team in the NFC playoffs.

By acquiring wide receiver Kenny Golladay and veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph, the front office in East Rutherford has equipped the three-year starter with enough offensive talent to give him the field and allow him to play with no excuses. If he’s a top-10 draft pick quarterback, this is the year to prove it.

Predictions surrounding the revamped Giants’ team continue to be mixed under Coach Joe Judge. After an expensive free agency period, the Giants roster may have the depth on paper, but Jones will be the x-factor for the Giants’ success next season.

Commentator Chris Simms, son of former Giants QB Phil Simms, released a segment of his list of “top 40 quarterbacks,” and ranked the Giants’ starter No. 26, ahead of names like Trevor Lawrence and “QB1” Andy Dalton.

While the ranking is not a vote of confidence on its surface, Simms is buying into the Giants’ project at quarterback with a big forecast to accompany the rating:

“This is a make-or-break year in Daniel Jones’ career if he wants to continue to be the unchallenged starting quarterback for the New York Giants. He’s got all the skills and attributes to be a really good franchise quarterback, but it’s got to come together … It’s as big of a year three for a quarterback as I can remember … When you break down Daniel Jones and why I say the potential is there, the guy has all the tools to be really, really good and do some special things and lead the Giants. He’s an elite passer … He can make every throw, he’s got every club in the bag. You’ve seen him run, his athleticism is real.”

Daniel Jones threw for 2,943 yards, 11 TDs, and 10 INTs in 13 games for the Giants last season.

Also entering New York City to play for a team on the rebound is new Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. Simms ranks Wilson at No. 27, just behind Jones.

Giants fans hope a standout Year 3 from Daniel Jones is enough to prove that the 2019 No. 6 pick out of Duke was not a reach. Or at least turns out to be the Great Value version of Eli Manning.

All due respect, A…no way a GM ever developed anything, except maybe some photos from a private dick he hired to take pictures of some QB’s wife.

    Cheers, bud !!!
