TMZ asked Dana White who he thought was the greatest UFC fighter of all-time and his answer was bold.
“Jon Jones, but Khabib [Nurmagomedov] is the best right now,” he said.

Khabib sits at 29-0 after retiring, but the eye test showed he’s on another level. His beatdown of Justin Gaethje by submission proved that no one has any answer for the guy. Usually G.O.A.T debates spark egos, and we’re really hoping this exchange leads up to a fight.
Could you imagine? Jon Jones’ unmatched boxing abilities toe-to-toe with Khabib’s grapple? Dana White knows exactly what he’s doing by the way. Saying Khabib is the best fighter in the world right now without solidifying his legacy as all-time GOAT is a challenge to continue building his legacy. Maybe we do get a mega-fight? Whoever wins surely etches their name as UFC’s G.O.A.T.
Weight classes are a thing, Jones is so much bigger than Khabib.
Khabib emaciates himself to make 155. He walks around at 185-190. He’d have to add 15 to 20lbs to make 205 and be strong, but it’s not a stretch.
Jones comfortably makes 205, but has added 25-30lbs to fight heavyweight. He’ll likely face the winner of Stipe-Frances, and with all due respect to Stipe, the second fight will go much like McGregor-Poirier rematch.
This is what’s great about sports, and specifically combat sports. Barbershop talk around “what if” fights. I love it. Khabib-Jones never happens, but it’s a fun debate.
Jones by KO via knee in the 4th rd. He’d catch him trying to shoot. Khabib up 2-1 on the cards.
