University Of Wisconsin Administrators Are Disgracefully Weak On Illegal Anti-America Encampment

The University of Wisconsin doesn't seem interested in upholding the law.

Anti-American and anti-Israel rallies have been popping up all over the country, and have been dealt with in varying ways. The heroes of the SEC crushed them, but Columbia and UCLA both failed in embarrassing fashion. It looks like

A massive illegal encampment has been located on Library Mall in the heart of campus for several days, and despite it being illegal to camp on campus, the school is choosing to negotiate instead of dropping the hammer.

An initial attempt was made to clear them out last week. When that didn't get the job done, the university decided to retreat like the absolute cowards they are.

The last update from the school publication, The Badger Herald, was that police would not move in while negotiations are underway. The faculty also plans on staging a walk out in support of the illegal encampment that has laid siege to a large chunk of campus.

It's a clown show.

Wisconsin leaders prove to be cowards in face of illegal encampment

As a Wisconsin alum with deep ties to the school, it's beyond embarrassing this is being allowed and tolerated. The inmates don't get to run the asylum. That's not how life works.

We're a nation of laws, and when you break the law, the police are supposed to deal with you. Do I get to negotiate my way out of a DUI? Of course not. It's crazy.

Yet, an anti-America/pro-Palestine/pro-Hamas encampment is being tolerated despite being in clear violation of the law.

As Chancellor Mnookin said last week, "Over the last few days, we have repeatedly asked the protesters to bring their demonstration into conformity with the law that prohibits camping on UW grounds. They declined to do so."

The law is the law. The rules are the rules. Why is the University of Wisconsin negotiating with people in open violation of the law? The students aren't a state actor. This isn't a hostage situation. It's a bunch of students - who I guarantee include some with very rich parents - larping as revolutionaries.

Which side has the badges? Which side has the authority of the government? Oh, that's right, campus PD and local Madison PD. They've been given warning after warning to leave campus. Now, it's time for action. As someone who loves Madison and my school, I refuse to let anti-American idiots de-value the university and everyone with a degree from it. Put an end to the madness and restore law and order. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

P.S.: If I was still in school, I'd be at this encampment every single day with a megaphone and a giant American flag making their lives hell. Too bad that spirit apparently doesn't exist in Madison anymore.
