Hulu Drops Intriguing Preview For Intense Murder Mystery: VIDEO

Hulu's upcoming series "Under the Bridge" looks like it might be able to move the needle.

The plot is described by the streaming giant as, "'Under the Bridge' is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer."

Sounds interesting, right? I certainly think so, and we all know I'm a huge sucker for any dark mystery, especially if it's true.

Hulu releases "Under the Bridge" teaser.

What do we all think about the preview? It looks pretty interesting to me, and Lily Gladstone is a super hot name right now in Hollywood.

She was nominated for an Academy Award for "Killers of the Flower Moon," and was expected to win before being beat out by Emma Stone.

Personally, I thought "Killers of the Flower Moon" was wildly overrated, but I am clearly in the minority when it comes to that opinion.

What I will say is that I didn't know any of the details of this case prior to seeing the trailer and have definitely not read the book that inspired the series. However, a quick Google search tells me it's an incredibly disturbing and troubling true story.

I'd suggest avoiding searching for details if you don't want the series spoiled. People simply love dark content, there's a true crime wave that's been sweeping across the country for years and nothing gets the heart pumping like a great mystery.

As I've said many times before, the first season of "True Detective" is the single greatest season of TV ever made. Do I think "Under the Bridge" will be nearly that great? No, but it doesn't need to be in order to be entertaining.

As long as the series focuses on providing an entertaining ride over woke nonsense, then it will be worth watching. However, you simply never know these days until it actually happens. Let me know what you think of the show at David.Hookstead@outkick.com, and you can catch it on Hulu starting April 17th.
